Wrong forum. ;)
I can understand your gripe about the palm os having issues with vista, but here in the 750 forum, we're all Windows Mobile issues.
Tethering your internet connection has never been easier under WM6 and it works fine with Vista thanks to WMDC.

I owned four Palm Pilots, dating back to the original version oh so many years ago. It seemed an easy decision to go 'palm' instead of a blackberry, or a windows based treo. thought it would be great to get the Treo 700p (palm version/ sprint). hey, i knew the software, and had loads of palm aps i could continue to use.
Things were only okay with the xp setup and syncing. Now, enter vista. Palm does not sync with vista 64-bit. so, no sync, can't install new aps, etc. Next, decided to use the treo as a modem, cause hey, says i could do it. Have spent hours on the phone with sprint as the 'tech support' and they can't seem to figure out how to do it. the sprint new connection manager software does vista, but won't work with palm, and the old 'dial up networking' program apparently does palm, but not vista. These are not the only areas which have presented problems.... And the tech support on any issue is an even bigger frustration. Palm blames Sprint and Microsoft; Sprint blames Palm & Microsoft, and Microsoft has no interest in helping either.
unless you want to use your smartphone to ONLY make/receive phone calls, there is absolutely no reason to buy a palm based unit, and many reasons to totally avoid the palm format. But, hey, if you only want to make calls, no reason to get a 'smartphone'..
