Rating or Review No Voice Commands over BT: PROBLEM SOLVED SEE LAST POST

Just wanna share this with others and get comments/ advises.
Upgraded my Palm 750 unbranded to ROM WM6, pointing to get Bluetooth Voice command support. New ROM Just installed and everything looks ok. Device works well. Actually the device is a bit faster than with WM5. I was kind of excited about it. Decided to purchase Voice Command 1.6 for PCC. I installed the software and just discovered that it works only through the Treo speaker phones. I check the Voice Command configuration and enabled the BT notifications. No joy: commands just pass through the speaker. My bluetooth earset is a Jabra JX10 Series 2 and it works well during call conversation, but when I press the VC activation button, the commands are "listened" through the Treo's mike. If you "cap" the mike with your finger and try to command through the BT earset it does not work. Tried to Softreset multiple times, re-pairing the earset..no joy.
Since it was well advertised that WM6 was carrying the BT voice command feature, I was really disappointed and getting frustrated. Am I doing something wrong? Did I forget something?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Rob

Question No voice commands over BT with VC 1.6 and WM6

Just made some additional experiment and found something interesting. I am sure some GURU can find a solution to that

I have removed VC1.6, disconnected Jabra JX 2 and then I have SoftResetted the 750. Paired again with the Headset and I have been able to communicate smoothly through the headset. The BT led was changing color and shape, showing a nice head set icon when the Jabra was connected.

THEN I have re-installed VC 1.6 PPC (Note, without any soft reset) and it was working ok. I was able to start a VC session pressing the Jabra buttons, hearing the command through the headset and the even the Jabra's mike was working ok. I was very happy of course

THEN I have (for other reasons) reset the TREO again and I got a bad surprise: the BT led was always in blue, it was not abl to change shape, indicating a Headset call and, you can imagine, I was not able anymore to pass Voice Commands through the BT headset.
What did it happen? Any help? What should I do?
I am sure some kind of registry was mismatched by the VC installing process and gets activated when you reset the treo.

Thanks in advance.

Lightbulb Voice Command over BT with WM6 asnd VC1.6: PROBLEM SOLVED

Since my head is sometimes harder than a granite block I made some further experiment with my Palm 750 Registry and found that the issue is really on the Audiogateway registry.
When VC 1.6 gets itself installed, it modifies the following registry key from:

FROM: (Original Registry without VC1.6)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Au dioGateway:BTAGExtModule = BTAGExt.dll

TO: (with VC1.6 installed)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Au dioGateway:BTAGExtModule
=\Program Files\Voice Command\vcbthag.dll

This modification does not work on my palm 750 .

When I have set this registry back to BTAGExt.dll ( I have used CEregedit to make the replacement) my Jabra BT Headset was able to listen and deliver Voice Commands to the device and viceversa the device was able to deliver messages and notifications to the BT headset.
Only missing element is Music: Music is still played through the Palm speaker, but I am fairly happy to make calls handfree!

Better than nothing. I hope this hint will be helpful to others. Please let me know if this works.

Regards
RC
