Other notifications block alarm clock!!?? - Treo Forums

Hi there,

Sometimes I use my Treo 750 as an alarm clock and have found that once in a while, the alarm never goes off. It seems that if another notification is pending (like an event on my calendar), the alarm won't go off until I dismiss that event.

Here's an example (and what happened today). I work in China and have lots of random events on my calendar for things happening in the US so it's not uncommon to have something on my calendar in the wee hours of the night. Today, my alarm was set for 6:30AM. I woke up at 7AM on my own and looked at my 750 with the usual inquisitive look when its alarm has failed to go off. I click the notification button on the main "today" screen and get a notification that some meeting has happened in the middle of the night. Great, I dismiss this and then my alarm starts going off!

Has anyone else experienced this? Is the alarm really set up this way?

I believe that it is set up that way and I dont know if you can change it. As a workaround I think you can turn off the reminder/alert on those items that are on US time and would be happening while you are asleep in China. They obviously are not something that you personally need to attend to when the alert goes off or you would be awakened and dismiss the alert.

I am having a problem with my alarms suddenly. They are not showing up on the display when they are due. For example, I can set an alarm and then when it is time to go off, I only see the flashing green LED and I hear the sound. There is no on screen notification. So if there is no on screen notification then I can't dismiss the alarm. Sometimes the sound stops on its own, but the LED is still flashing. And, I have done a soft reset numurous times already to see if it would correct the problem, but intrestingly the LED is still blinking each time. I am wondering if I should do a hard reset.

when did the probelem start have you added third party programs did it start happening right after you added a program. If so try removing that program and see if the behavior stops. If not check your alarm settings a setting may have gotten inadvertewntly chhecked which is causing this issuer. Let us know!
