Outlook causing problems
I have had my 750 for several months, no problems. I have AOL email, and had it set up as an IMAP4 account on both my Treo and in Outlook. Last week, both Outlook and my Treo started having problems downloading my messages. I used the account repair option in Outlook, which changed my IMAP4 to a POP3. Now my battery on my Treo is depleteing too rapidly, my messages disappear from my IMAP4 account, and I don't know what to do.
:angry:Help, please!!!

Remove the accounts from both devices and set them up from scratch.
You're losing messages because of the POP. It downloads and deletes from the server, whereas IMAP stores the messages on the server.
If you want to use POP access from multiple devices, you have to set them to leave a copy on the server.

Thanks. When I go to Options on the email screen, it lists my accounts, including the IMAP4 and POP3. It says Tap an account to change settings, but when I tap, nothing happens. How do I delete the account?

hehe... It's so simple it's stupid, but it will drive you crazy trying to find it.
Email>Menu>Tools>Options
On this page you will see a list of all your email accounts. Tap and hold on the one you want to delete and a menu will pop up with the option to delete.

Oh yeah, if it's an exchange account, you have to go into Activesync>Menu>Options and delete the exchange server.
Seems like they really could have made it easier and more intuitive.

Thanks so much for you help. Now suffer me one more reply - I don't understand what you mean by delete the exchange. :embarassed:
Do you also know how to delete the accounts on Outlook? I went to tools>account settings> remove, and removed all accounts. Then I rebooted the computer. Then I set up a new account with IMAP settings.
Now I keep getting a message that Outlook cannot update headers.
Jeez.

If you are syncing with a corporate exchange server, you can't remove the account in the email settings. You have to delete the exchange server's config from the ActiveSync application on the Treo instead.
In Outlook (on the PC) go to: Tools > Email Accounts > View or change existing accounts.
Highlight the one you want and click "remove".

Oh - there is no corporate exchange server. Just me and my laptop - and my Treo, on which I rely heavily when I am out of the office - thus my panic and need to get this all squared away ASAP.
