Hi, thanks for replying. Ok, I understand #2 below.

Regarding the first issue: So, you're saying that if I download the messages but never delete them from the Deleted Folders, then they'll remain on my server??? That doesn't make any sense. If you download the messages into your inbox, usually they're removed from your mail server (unless you tell the email program not do so, which is what I'm asking about). On regular (desktop) Outlook, there's a simple option that you can click, which keeps messages on the server. I'm wondering why that same option doesn't exist on the mobile version of Outlook.

Thanks,

1) Don't delete the messages from your 'Deleted Items' folder on your Treo - then they won't fill-up your Inbox and they'll still be on the mail server later.

2) Dunno...I use the 'download headers' and only download the first 20K of a message. Then, I can decide to download the entire message (including any attachments) after I look at the 'teaser."

Maybe I didn't answer your question(s), but the aforementioned solutions work quite well for me...I can delete the junk I don't want/need from the server while mobile, and keep the good stuff. I also sync my Outlook inbox and select folders but that's another story for another day!! |
