Palm Treo 750 won't sync with ActiveSync on XP Pro with OL 2003 I have a client with a pretty standard setup. He is using Outlook 2003 (not sure of patch level yet), ActiveSync 4.5, and a Treo 750.
Let me give you a little background. I work on a help desk. I took this ticket today hoping it would be an easy fix. The user had 3 other Treo's that wouldn't sync with his laptop and has had them replaced.
Anyway, I was working with him remotely todsy. When trying to sync with ActiveSync, it would just sit there. I had him disconnect it and I deleted the partnership. I re-set up the partnership, tried to sync, and same issue. He was using ActiveSync 4.2 at this point.
I removed ActiveSync 4.2 and installed ActiveSync 4.5 clean. I tried to sync, same issue. It just sits there and says "Synchronizing". Nothing ever happens.
I read in some other forums that I should have upgraded in the first place to 4.5, not did a clean intsall. I'm not sure why that is true.
Could it be a corrupted Outlook profile? Or perhaps OL 2003 should be at a certain patch level? Again, I'm not sure of the patch level of Outlook. Anyone have any ideas? He wants to sync his calendar, inbox, and contacts.
I don't have much experience with these units. Any help would be appreciated. |
