Why does it make the noise when I press the button?

because if it has powerer it makes that noise its the same noise that it makes when it starts synching but there is no way that it starts the synch process because the button is disbaled from starting the synch I guess if you like the sound of synching you could play with it. I dont like the sound that much but when I first set mine uyp theat sounbd was the seetest sound because it started synching right away something that took several frustrating days with my other windows mobile devices

Well, I have to say, Bluetooth Syncing is the BEST method...so far. It took a while to get the PC and the devices to talk to each other, but once it did, it's smooth as silk. I just have to try out the time it takes for file transfers to an SD card on the treo to compare the wireless speed vs. cable speed.
The hardest part is figuring out the incoming ports and partnerships that are needed for the bluetooth to work. THe manual is so vague. I searched everything about Bluetoothing on the web and was able to patch enough posts together to get it set up.
The bad thing is that I already ordered a cradle that is on its way to me now.

great want to share with us how you did it please?

I'll describe what I did, but truthfully, there are some steps and config settings that I can't figure out why it is set up that way. Here it goes:
On the TREO, turn on BLUETOOOTH (click on the icon on the Today page and check ON both items).
I have a Kensington Bluetooth USB adapter that is about 4 years old (at least). I installed the software onto the PC. Once installed, I went to the bluetooth configuration page. Each bluetooth software is probably a little diferent, but I think these settings are common for all, they just might be worded differently. The most important things that need to be set are:
Under Accessibility:
Check ON "let others Bluetooth devices discover this computer"
Under Discovery:
Check ON "Look for other BT devices"
Under Local Services (Desktop Com Port Designation):
I had to create "New Serial Services" (aka Com Ports) to get a COM7 Port.
They are created sequentially. It listed COM3, so I had to keep adding until it got up to COM7. Then I just deleted the other ports and left COM7.
(This is the part that I am unsure why it is set to this, since the COM port that is set on the Treo for my PC is COM4)
Under CLIENT APPLICATIONS (Device Com Port Designation):
Again, same as above, but go up to COM8.
(The reason why I created COM7 and COM8 is because when I was fiddling at the start of the BT setup, the TREO only presented me with COM0, COM4, COM7 and COM8 to select from)
This software has a Partnership (Pairing) wizard, so do that next.
I couldn't figure out the passkey thing at first. I was looking for a settings page where you enter the passkeys that you want (kinda like setting the user info/passwords for logging into XP), but it's not the case here. When the software searches for BT devices and finds your treo, it will ask for a passkey. Type in whatever you want and remember it.
Then go to the TREO and go to the bluetooth Settings page --> Devices --> Click "New Partnership". It will do a search and should find your PC. Click onto your PC and it should ask you for the passkey to talk to your PC. Enter the same one you did on the PC and then it will go to a "Partnership Settings" page. Check ON "headset" and "Activesync". Click "Save".
Under the COM Ports Tab (on the Treo BT Settings page):
Incoming Port = COM0
"My Desktop" = COM4
This is where I also don't understand the setting because on my PC, the incoming and outgoing COM Ports are 7 and 8.
Open up Activesync on the PC. I am using version 4.5.
Under File --> Connection Settings --> Check ON "allow connections to one of the following:" --> Click on the 'CONNECT' button at the top right. It will search thru all the COM ports until it finds the Treo. Mine found it on COM7. I think it goes ahead and syncs to the TREO at this point.
Your PC should come up with a mesage down by the taskbar saying that a device is trying to communicate with the PC. Say 'Yes' and also Check ON wherever it says something like don't ask me this again - just sync whenever this device asks.
Once all is set up for the first time, to run Activesync later, all you need to do is go to the activesync program on the Treo --> Menu --> Connect via Bluetooth.
I did this from memory, so there may be sequential errors, but I think I got it all.
