Screen going on and off - Treo Forums

If I don't lock the phone and I just set it on my desk, the screen is constantly going on and off. If I lock it, it will stay off. Anyone have any ideas as to why it may be doing this? Thanks.

I know it sounds crazy, but try moving the screen brightness past 50%

Thanks for the tip, on the Dim to Bright slider it was a bit past 50% already but I cranked it a bit to the right and I'll see if that helps. Thanks again.

I have the same problem where the screen stayed illuminated, turned off for a split second and on again, and I just got my 750 3 days ago. I had to do a hard shut down to get the screen light to stay off. My brightness is below 50% mark. I did a hard shut down but if it keeps doing it I'll exchange it within my 30 days.

Yeah, adjusting the brightness didn't work. The screen still goes off and on while the phone is just sitting on my desk. I have my phone set to password protect after 10 minutes of no use, but it never goes into password protect unless I lock the keys because the screen is always coming on.

Any apps running in the background? Like maybe a pulling email on a schedule?

It sounds like something is activating it or maybe you are getting variations in signal strength or there are tower issues.

I think something with the xpress mail setting was messed up. I had ATT give me a new one and instead of using xpress mail for my Gmail I used Gmail's pop3 settings, haven't had the screen issue on the new one.

Good I am glad that worked out thanks for the followup from your end. I have heard of problems with expreess mail and never tried to use it and took the icon for it off the 750 today screen.
