Search Option on Today page

I have a user with a Treo750, on the today page is there anyway to force or link the Search feature on the Today Page to search for contacts on our GAL it currently only searches the local contacts. We use the most recent version of Goodlink to syncronize with Exchange 2003 SP2 and have also tried ActiveSync and neither one works. However it seems the only way to search on the GAL is to actually compose a message, click the menu, select search network or something to that effect and it WILL search the GAL.
Why would you add that feature to the Today Page if you cant use its full functionality? Is this a flaw by design?

Looking at the user manual quickly you can use search to do a global address kist lookup (see page 187 of the user guide). Look in the user guide and see if the search is something that can be put on the today screen settings today thentheres a list that can be checked or unchecked. if then I gues you would have to use the procedure in the user guide pg 187. also see page 37 of the user guide for tips.
