make sure pop access is enabled on your account... from messaging, from the menu(right soft key), select tools>new account. enter all information for your account... also, if you want your treo to automatically retreive your gmail, go into options on step four of the setup and check the box to "connect and check for messages every:" (i chose 30 minutes, but just my preference)... make sure to also check the boxes that say require ssl connection...

the servers are incoming(pop.gmail.com:995) and outgoing(smtp.gmail.com:465)

hope this helps... this is how to do it on the 700w at least...

On thing that may come up is that once you get your mail, and sign on again the old messages will come off the device. The corrective action is to put recent:name(username) @gmail.com.

Hi - I am new to this forum and just got my Treo 750 last week, so am still figuring out a lot of things! I set up my gmail as the people at Cingular told me to, and it worked for a couple of days, though I did have the issue of the emails disappearing after I read them. Pugnut, in which field should I put the recentusername)@gmail.com? The very first step of setup, where they ask you for your email address, or the second, where they ask you for username and password?
Sadly, now I'm not receiving my Gmail at all. I'm not sure what happened, but when I tell it to send and receive nothing comes through. Any suggestions?
Thanks - any help would be greatly appreciated!

This helped me TREMENDOUSLY, however there is one more step required to make it work on my 750. You must check require SSL connection AND the Outoing mail requires authentication box. The next box that allows for further info is not needed. This fixed all my sending problems. Hope this helps you guys...
