I am debating weather i should get the 680, and then the 750p when it comes out. I am legibla for an upgrade, but don't want to waste it on the 680 if I will get thr 750 when it comes out. The 650 seems quite similar to the 650 with a few changes, the 750 will have the 3G, which will definalty be a significant change worth getting!

I was thinking about buying the 680 out right since it will be cheaper.

Any idea how much I can get on ebay for the 650?

There is no 750p.

They are similar looking phones, but the 680 is running a palm OS and the 750 is running a Windows OS.

The differences are almost all in the OS, and the 750 also uses some more frequencys UMTS, so it's a 3G phone.

I spoke with a friend at cingular he told me they are comingout with the 750 in decmber and the 750p will be soon after. He is well informed.

Well I spoke with my best friend who's fathers uncles is the 3rd husband of the 2nd cousin of the brother of the guy who's girlfriend is sleeping with the CEO of Palm and they said there is no such thing as a treo 750P.

Don't listen to a DAMWCE, get your info from anyone who doesn't work at a cellular store, they don't make the phones they just cell them with a phone plan.

Palm has repeatedly stated the Treo 680 is a suitable upgrade for Treo 650 owners. While this is certainly debately and would depend on what you deem upgrade worth features, I don't believe they would be making public statements if there were such a thing as a 750p. Possible? Yes. If they make an antenna-less, new form factor, high speed Palm device, I'd line up for one.

I'd be on line right behind Chris... if it had upgraded Bluetooth, integrated voice dialing, and maybe WiFi. Otherwise, pass: too similar to the 650 I've got now.
My recommendation for you, PartyDovid, is take the plunge now and get a 650 or 680. What's the dollar value on being irritated for a year while you wait for an possible future product to appear, and for your wireless carrier? There's always something better around the corner. Besides, some carriers are offering discounted annual phone purchases with a 2-year contract.

definitely in the corporate stores and not the authorized dealers...and yes, you're right, $40k isn't that much, but its more than minimum wage. :wink:

Most of what "informed" sales associates know about release dates and such comes from forums like this anyway...which usually amounts to hearsay, so I understand your quam, but you can't knock 'em for working there. We generally don't find out when a new phone comes out until the store manager opens the box
