Switching from 650 to 750
I just bought a new 750. Well supposedly new. Anyway, I just wanted to know if I can just switch the SIM card from my 650 to the 750 and keep rolling or I have to alert cingular that I have changed my handset

Assuming you are a Cingular customer all you really need to do is move your SIM card over as long as you have a 3G card otherwise you will need to get one from Cingular. The 750 needs to have the new 3G SIM card to work properly w/the network.

I think thats assuming you can get 3G service whereever you are. I think my sim card from the 650 will work fine with the 750 until we get 3G in Fort Smith which may be a while. If it's an erroneous assumption I will trek to the ATT store and get a new card when my 750 comes in tomorrow.

One (perhaps really dumb) question I've been meaning to ask as folks talk about needing 3G SIM cards, is whether the 3G card will work in a 650 if I choose to switch back and forth.

I would think that the sim card would be backwards compatible, but just an assumption on my part.

It will work. My SIM card fried itself when I had my 650 so they gave me a new card, a 3G one. When I got my 750 I put it in and kept rolling, no problems.

My cingular 650 refurb came with a 3G sim, works fine, and havent had the Jitter-logo some have complained of, also came with the latest software update applied.

Thanks to all for your replies. Good to know some things work right...
