Text Messages

Hi all, new member, first time post. I can send text messages with my 750 (ATT) but I can not receive any. Do I have something set wrong? Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks!

welcome to ET rgbvette. I am not sure about the answer to your question I have a small data plan without txt messaging and can receive text messages from people mostly giving me a phone number to call but I cant send them. I will try to find an answer for you. You might try getting on line with att or palm and check the nowledge base for articles that might get you an answer!

Good advice from jfa. Sounds like something in your account setup. There are a million things they can check on the carrier end, and you might not get it resolved in one call. (Some reps are better than others.)

Stick with it, especially if you bought the device from your carrier.

AT&T ran through all the troubleshooting on my 750, found several corrupt files. They could not fix the files so they gave me a brand new 750 with WM6 installed:cool::laugh3:. Great service!

In Australia, unlocked Treo750 on the Optus network. Upgraded seamlessly to WM6 a coupe of months ago and all well until a few days ago.
Suddenly, the messaging operation appears to be corrupt in that incoming sms messages are received normally, but new messages created by me (including attempts to reply) are not sent: they do NOT appear in either the outbox or drafts or sent items folders. Also the Sent Items folder appears to be corrupted in that there are 52 apparent messages there which I cannot delete. When I open this folder, the screen redraws incompletely (the top left hand folder list with the drop-down list of folders is where this failure to redraw occurs) and the messages that are there appear as blank lines which if opened, contain the text of a sent sms message but without a destination and it is impossible to delete them. I have purged all messages from the received, saved and template folders but this makes no difference. When attempting to delete one of the 52 messages (I have found no way to do a group delete), I receive an error message that messaging.exe or the like has encountered an error and needs to close down or the messaging app just closes and returns me to the home screen. I have tried several soft reboots and have removed the battery on several occasions as well but the problem persists. HELP!
