treo 750 help needed

I've used treo 600 and 650's for a few years
just got an unlocked cingular 750 and don't have a manual
so I have a few questions[they may not be in the manual anyway] . at the top of the screen on the left there is a start an in the middle you have the signal strength symbol, but I just noticed a symbol that looks like a hand set with an exclamation mark extending vertically from the mouth piece, also there's a square with a G in it next to it
no idea about this either

That phone symbol means you "missed an incoming call".

The G can mean your on a GPRS connection or data connection.

Inside the square dependening on your connection strength and other factors it could be a G got GSM E for edge speeds U for UMts speeds or 3G got full 3g speed HSDPA in some areas I blieve you might see a H
