Default Treo 750/Laptop bluetooth connect

I'd like to connect my new Treo 750 (Win mobile...not sure what version) to my Dell Latitude D620 via bluetooth. I've got the ActiveSync with the Bluetooth plug-in installed on the laptop.

I can create partnership initiated from the Treo to the Laptop. However, when I select (on Treo) ActiveSync > Connections > Use Bluetooth I get the message "Cannot find a PC configured to use ActiveSync" (approximately).

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

make sure that your bluetooth com port and the activesync com port are both set to the same port.
generally if you have a partnership with bluetooth and phone you are well on the way to sync. (as they talk to each other)

Thanks for the input. To clarify, are you saying: make sure that the Com port for the bluetooth and the ActiveSync on the PC are the same? Or are we talking com ports being the same between the treo and the PC?

They are basically the same thing. When you pair with your bluetooth device a notification should be displayed, that should tell you what the com port number is. Once you have that go to active sync on your PC and set it to the same com port.
You should be able to sync once you do that....

Once paired with your bluetooth device that is all you have to do, any other problems will be with active sync trying to go to another com port.
Also once you have set the com ports to the same settings you might have to edit the bluetooth pairing again just to make sure that activesync is part of the pairing. (ie gives you options when you pair like .. Activesync, dailup networking etct etc) make sure active sync is ticked...

Thanks for input. I'm having trouble getting ActiveSync to accept anything except Com40. I'll play with it some more in a few days.

You can try to check the registry entries for it as they have been known to be wrong. If you do a google search on activesync and comm ports it might point you in the right direction.
just amke sure the registry matchs your settings.
