Default Treo 750 "shading out"

My treo is acting up. Its a 750. Sometimes, when I get an email notification, or a missed call, the treo will come out of hibernation stage (i.e. wake up) and will go i=to a grayed out screen. You can barely make out that its on, but it is, and it will run the battery down. For instance, if I get an email late in the night while I'm asleep, or if I miss a phone call, my phone will be close to dead when I wake up, because it came on to receive the email or call, but did not go back to off. Hopefully this makes sense.

What an awesome forum this is!

By the way, I've gone through all of the power options and backlight options I can come up with, and I've done a soft reset.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Matthew

I know this is a kind of "last resort" idea, but try doing a hard reset. If you're 750 is having a problem where a soft reset doesn't help and you've already gone through all the different and available options on the phone itself, a hard reset should put it back to normal.

I was having a major issue with mine the other day and felt like there was no other option, I did a hard reset installed a couple of programs back and did a sync with my pc and everything works again, no problems.
Try it, hopefully it works.

go to start and settings select system tab select power adavanced and adjust the number of minutes the phone stays on when idel using the on battery power setting. That should take care of power consumption. You need to charge up your phone overnight on a charge cable. I keep mine on a charge/syn cable while at the office it wont hurt the battery and its whats recommended.
