    Default type of storage card

    Hello,

I am using a micro 2 gig in my 750 - of course with the mini adapter. Once (only so far) the device was not reading the card and I did a soft reset and all was fine. I am using a San Sung card. Would it be better to go with a mini SD instead of a micro and the adapter or would that matter?

    Default storage card problem

Well, it is now starting to look like a problem. I just had it happen the second day in a row. I have since found many, many posts and the gists of the post seem to indicate the solution(s) that seem to surface quite a bit:

1- use Palm branded MiniSDs (more expensive and I already have this SanDisk)

2- use 1 gig instead of 2 gig (quite a bit less problems reported). That would actually work for me because I have only used about 200 meg on my 2 gig card and don't see myself loading it up but, like above, I already have the 2 gig.

So, there does appear to be an issue with the storage cards not being read. Any others?

it may be a bad card there have been reports of that is your card an hcsd or just a mini sd card that might be the problem. Also before you use it you need to format it for TAT32 either with software solution or a card reader.

I have tried 2 cards. Both are SanDisk and used as they come out of the package. I am now using a 1 gig card and it has not happened as often but still some. I have read posts that they
1- should be fine out of the package
    2- must be FAT16
3- must be FAT32 (I think that is what you meant to say)
4- and some say must be FAT12

I know very little about the File Allocation Table (FAT) stuff.

Well, for now the 1 gig seems to be doing ok. And for future reference how do you format a card to FAT32 or 16 or whatever with a card reader?

    Thanks,

    Gary

just use a card reader with your pc. open My Computer and right click the icon for the memory card and select format from the pop-up menu.
