Not sure if it is your headphone jack..but the 650 has that problem if you have used a wired headset some contacts can get stuck in the treo. Some have installed volume care and an up grade that bypasses the jack.
EDIT: oh, it looks like you have to have the Volume Care Basic program installed first for this headset bypass program to work. It installs itself into the Volume Care Basic program: http://software.everythingtreo.com/product.asp?id=808

Just trying to learn and talk at the same time here.
I did try the headphone jack "Bypass" feature with Volume Care Pro on my device, and it didn't help! That wasn't the mysterious, intermittent issue causing my handset speaker to fail. I'm just glad it's working again
