Probably not for awhile...

The 750v and supposed 750 is GSM based. If there were an unlocked 750, it would only work on GSM networks. You'd be able to insert a SIM and use the phone. Verizon and Sprint are CDMA - different technology that does not utilize the SIM card.

yeah i understand the 750 is goin to be GSM.. which sucks.. but.. do u kno any thing of the next treo coming out on verizon? i have the Q and 650... i wanan get the 700p or w... but i would wait if theres somethin else comin out another treo

Well the 750 becoming available on GSM doesn't suck for those of us who like GSM!

I certainly am not in the know, but my guess is, you won't see anything new from Palm on Verizon/Sprint for a good while . . There is testing of the new replacment OS for Palm, right now called ALP, that is supposedly going to be ready for primetime around spring- summer of next year . . . I would expect then that Palm might offer a new phone around that time, but don't be suprised to see someone like Nokia or motorola to offer a phone that is compatible with Palm apps around then also . . . Since the new software is not tied to Palm any longer, I am guessing that other manufacturers will come to market with their version of a Treo . . . . . . .

Wouldn't it be possible for Palm to make both a GSM and CDMA version of the same phone? The bulk of the design would remain the same, so it wouldn't be all that hard would it?

In regards to GSM, I wouldn't have swapped to Verizon if Cingular wasn't stupid in 2 major areas of their PDAs and related phone plans. When Cingular provides insurance coverage to all of their PDA phones and an unlimited data option, then I will consider switching back to them. But to sell PDA phones and not provide insurance is the one of the dumbest ideas out there.

Still, if Palm isn't planning on releasing any new CDMA phones, could they at least design some upgrades that will let the 700w compete with the 750?

The 755 which will be cdma is supposed to be out in mid May on Sprint one can assume that after the exclusivty period is up that verizon and alltel will follow just like with the 700wx

I was in a Verizon store today and the guy told me that the next Treo (I think he said the 750) was coming in "six months" - let's hope it is sooner.

Well the 755 cdma treo palm or windows would guess windiws will be out in mid may if rumors are true with an exclusivity period of three months that would be mid August.
