What About the POPs (Palm OS People?)

Is this the end of the Palm operating system for the Treo?

I use Palm OS because I use Palm Desktop for Mac as my PIM software and hope to do so forever. (I used the software long before Palm bought it--It was Claris Organizer. Palm has made very few improvements to the original software and in fact have made a couple of detrimental changes. Nonetheless, Palm Desktop for Mac has some brilliant features that other more sophisticated PIM software--as well as Palm Desktop for Windows--lacks.)

Nonetheless, I envy the 750 because it's GSM and you can use it internationally. I wouldn't be able to use my Treo 700P in, say, Israel. (If I'm wrong, please correct me!) I would switch to Cingular in the future if they came out with a Palm version of the Treo. Has Palm abandoned the POPs? (Palm OS People?) Boy, to be a Mac user and a Palm OS person--that's a double minority!!

im no fan of cingular, but if you insist on having the Palm OS, why not just go for the 680? seems to me that the major difference between the 680 and 750 for a smartphone user is the operating system...

and the 3g... but if that doesn't bother you get the 680. I love my 750, I had the 650 and just wished I had wm on it... and finally the 750 is out and I love it.. but like I said if 3g isn't on your list of needs or wants go with the 680. hope that was some help.

i can see a difference between 1x and EV with VZW, but how would EV compare with 3g? is there really that much of a difference?

well my friend has vzw... and even with my 3g not running to full 3g speed still loads web pages 3-6 secs faster... and once they come out with a new rom for the 750 ill be getting around 900-1000 kbps ... and right now I'm getting 300-400 kbps without the full 3g experince. thses speeds are tests from www.dslreports.com/mspeed

on the 1mb test... so if you can go there and see what you get... hopefully I'm somewhat of help.
