Default What cool software do you use on your 750?

Hi there,

Thought I'd start a thread to see what cool/useful pieces of software people were using on their 750s.

For me so far...

1. Skype - instant messaging/VOIP - the voice quality over the GPRS network isn't so great but the messaging works perfectly. Anyone tried this on a 3G network? Using the higher performance mobile version of Skype as reviews seem to suggest it runs a bit more reliably on the 750.

2. Pleco - Chinese/English dictionary - great tool for anyone living in or traveling to China.

That's all for me so far - what about you?

Games aside (I love Handmark's games - Yahtzee, Battleship, Tetris, Monopoly)....the COOLEST on my 750 are listed below (the top 4 listed are my personal favorites...in no particular order):

1) Battery Pack Pro - this is my 3rd version of this app and it provides many, many handy utilities that make me more productive.

2) Auto 3in1 - I travel A LOT! This is the most functional of all of the auto expense, maintenance tracking, etc., for multiple vehicles I have found (I used PVM previously and there isn't a very current version available - the primary reason I like Auto 3in1 is because I have flip-flopped between Palm and Windows OS devices over the years and with a little clever maneuvering I was able to import the data from several vehicles and THAT makes this most functional for me).

3) eWallet - 'nuff said.

4) Two Peaks' Billrate (although not a Two Peaks' product any longer) - this is a GREAT app for tracking hours, customers, related expenses, etc., AND there is a desktop companion for even more functionality. I am anxiously awaiting an update of this application from iambic...I understand one is on the way...

Google Maps, Telenav, ListPro, Pocket Express, Pocket Informant, Pocket Quicken, Ringo, Space Reclaimer, and SPB Backup are the remaining "3rd party" apps on my 750...some are better than others, but all are quite useful for me.

For your Google Maps, do you need an active data feed subscription in order for it to work? I downloaded it on my computer but haven't had a chance to put it on my 750. Also, does anyone know where to get an app for an alarm system (wake up alarm, not security)? Obviously the 750 alarm is not workin for me.

This thread again, eh? I guess it's been a while since the last software list.

I got tired of retyping it every time this came up, so feel free to follow the "favorite software picks" link in my signature. It provides descriptions as well as download links. I rehosted some stuff that can be hard to find.

Also, check this thread for a pretty decent list:
http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=159823

JBNERY6465, the built in alarm function works well. If it's not loud enough, you can add new alarm sounds by saving low sample rate .wav files in the Windows directory. They will show in the list of selectable alarm sounds.

And yes, google maps needs a data connection to download the map for the requested location.

My favorite so far is SPB Pocket Plus. I love the functionality and customizability of it. (Check out the Screen shot).
SPB "Pocket Plus"
SPB "Screen Shot"
SPB "Pocket Plus" (extra icons)
Iambic "Agendus" (although it loads quite slowly)
Google Maps
JB "Frequency Tuner"
"Todays Time" (see the digital clock and date and battery status on the screen-shot)
Pocket RAR
Pocket Picture (drawing program similar to "paint")
Mobi-Pocket (book reader)

Background picture is the Tetons, Digital clock by "Todays Time", SPB Pocket plus allows the tabs "Get-Off-Your-Ass. You can make more or less tabs as needed and you can add or remove icons and change the words and font size in the tabs. You can also change the size of the icons below the tabs. (these are the large size).

Hey Fastlerner, how do you add the info at the bottom about Phone specifics and your pipe smokin' picture and such?? You can PM me if you'd rather...........

At the top of your current screen, click on the "Quick Links" drop down and select "edit profile". On your profile screen, there are some links on the left side. You'll want to edit your signature and avatar.
