WM6 & .Cab files - Treo Forums

Any ideas. Installed wm6 AT&T SD ver from Palm. After a few issues and still dealing some sync issues. (Won't always sync up get "Must have active sync 4.5 or higher install on you PC". This I have sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't. Go figure. Anyway back to .CAB files. My phone will not install cab files. I copy them to the root directory on the phone, Active sync does it's thing to them. Put they won't install!! Have I spaced out and forgot something?

have you done a reset afterwards that is when the cab files usually will do one and install.

Yes I've done a reset. I've moved them from phone to card and back. Moved from temp folder to root and back. Reset with them in temp folder, reset with in the root drive. Never had this problem until i went to wm6.

have you tried deleting and redownloading the files and reinstalling?

No. These exsisting are cab's I've installed before. I reflashed my phone with wm6 and to reinstall everything. I was told by Palm I could reinstall my latest backup over the new wm6 install. BAD idea it bricked my phone so I had to do a hard reset and reinstall everything. Now cab install don't work. I've found a utility called "WinCE cab installer" that allows me install cab's. But that does not fix the situation, only patches it.
