    Default WM6 update problems HELP!

I am trying to update my Treo 750 to WM6. I downloaded the update, but when I open the compressed file on my PC first I get a results folder, then an unnamed folder which has a application file called Treo750_2_25_ATT_EN_DesktopUpdater.exe
When I attemp to open the file I get the error message:

    Compressed (zipped) Folders Error
    "Windows cannot complete the extraction"
"The destination file could not be created"

I can only download the update once, so I need help. I am running Vista on my laptop. I am using Windows Mobile Device Center to sync.

    No clue...

If you like I can send you a copy of the Official Unbranded WM6 Update to try. I haven't tried it on a Vista machine, but since it's using the Palm installers, it should work as long as you have WMDC installed.

(Bonus: Unbranded isn't loaded with all the ATT bloatware.)

I got the update to take. I could not open the update out of the unzipped folder. I had to drag the update to the desktop, and then I was able to open it. Thanks for your help guys.

what I di was save it to the desktop and then unzip it it and move it to a file in my programs hard drive and then open the unzipped folder which then containsed three folders and one was results and that held the file that needed to be put on the expansion card and installed from the card to the main memory. Its cumbersome and complicated at best and a strange way to do an update but it could be worse Congress could have gotren involved.

then you must have goten the right file to installsomehow. Go back to the file folder that you unzipped and tell me the names of all the files and file folders in your zip file.

All that I had to do was drag the (Treo750_2_25_ATT_EN_DesktopUpdater) file to my desktop, and then double click it, and the update started automatically. Make sure you are fully connected to you're computer before opening it. Also, make sure that you're phone is not on any power saving mode that would turn it off during the update. You probably already know these things, but just thought I would make sure. I also had better luck using Windows Mobile Device Center over Sync.
