I have a treo 755p and it keeps shutting off on me. i started doing it when my trial for agendus was up so i thought maybe that was it. so i deleted it and it still is shutting off when i open certain applications. i even opened my calculator at the store to calculate the discount of something and when i typed in 34 x .7 = when i it the = sign it wouldn't do anything and when i hit up where the numbers were it shut down. it did this twice. i also have the AIM program and i can't get into that without it shutting down. please help!
I hope you have a good back up of your info. It sounds like you may need to do I hard reset to clear and reset your treo. You can then resync and reload the 3rd party programs.
I would do the hard reset then use the phone for awhile to be sure your resetting problems are over then start reinstalling your stuff.

When you say shut-off, does that mean after a few moments of sitting, the screen goes blank or goes blank on occasion after hitting an application key? If so, this is normal, it happens when the device is clearing the db cache.
Unless you are using a third party launcher, applications on the card just have to live in the /Palm/Launcher folder - just gotta.
A hard reset - been explained bunches of time. Take a few moments and tour the Palm web site and search for something like 755P hard reset - bunches comes up.
Before executing a hard reset, always back the device up and after a hard reset, if there was a reason for hard resetting, like the device resetting when an application runs or resets just 'cause, then DO NOT sync the data back to the device - doing that just brings the problem right back to where it was prior to the last sync.

okay so how do i back the device up but then you said don't sync it back? not sure how i do all that? i'm really just worried about losing my conacts from the phone. and now before i read this i went to do a hotsync and i can't even do that without it shutting off
If your contacts are on the pc you should not lose them. Do not know if you sync to outlook or palm desktop but that info should stay just not new contacts you have added after sync. You may want to manually add them on your pc.
Hard reset is you pull the battery , and hold the power button down at the gray screen. you should see an option to erase your data by using your nav key and selecting yes or no. (At least that is how I remember it.)
Use your phone (calc since it would reset) and see if your problem is gone. If it is starting syncing things back one at a time testing the device between syncs for resets.
