Hard reset, it will help you determine if it is a software or hardware issue. Perform the hard reset as instructed in the manual (I can type it out for you but I'd rather you help yourself - it's more educational :P) and see if the issue reoccurs WITHOUT resyncing your information. If the problem disappears, it was a software conflict in the phone. It happens, way beyond common.

gdm, thanks for the input. Unfortunatly I do know how to do a hard reset and have been praying that I didn't have to go that route. At this point though I think it is going to be my only option. It has been resetting all week long and is very fustrating! I've downloaded RCS Backup (resco). After the hard reset, can I (or should I) restore my contact list ? Is there anything else that I should do?

Back the device up first. A hard reset - take a tour of the Palm site and look in the support area - lots of information and easy to find.
Anyway, are you in a weak signal area? Have you contacted your provider and asked the question, "Any cell sites down in my area?" The on/off thing is a classic example of weak signal disease. This can become very evident if you have an application attempting to connect to the data service/Internet, such as a mailer or an application that can be set to update by their lonesome. I have 7 apps that update themselves without human intervention.

Thanks for that info Ben. Yes! My Alltel carrier service is terible here in Jupiter, FL however the problem started before I started roaming here. I don't not to my knowledge have any programs setup to automatically update.

This is also a symptom of an unsuccessful sync. Every time I changed applications, I would l go through the same series of events, starting with a log into Sprint Power Vision and ending with a power reset. I managed a clean sync and the problem disappeared.
