Default Clear Junk - Clean install Help!!

I have decided to cleanup my 755p of all the junk on it. I have searched and read as many articles as possiable on the clean install process (including Perry's excellent step-by-step). Each one states I should rename my palmone backup folder to prevent applications/preferences from being re-synched.
The problem is that there is nothing in my palmone folder except the following file:
    Hardrest.pdb
I think this came from a hardrest yesterday when I had to stop a looping problem by hardrestting. I see almost all of my installed programs in the archive folder and on my sdhc card(I use backup buddy). Do I rename it?

Would someone please clarify what I need to do to keep the old preferences and junk from being reinstalled and what folder I should use to reinstall apps one at a time. Thanks for any info provided.

If you have synced your palm to your pc you should have a backup folder. open windows explorer and look in program files the palm folder ,user name and then a back up folder.

If you have not synced you can do a hard reset on your phone and reload your apps from your pc. backup buddy basic will reinstall everything on your phone I don't believe you can select or pick and choose. Maybe the upgraded version. You may be able to copy your card with a card reader and pick and choose from it.

There was nothing in the backup folder. I renamed it and did a hard reset anyway. Today I am reinstalling everything. All appears to be going well. It's just tedious. Thanks for the info Plunker.

After the hard reset, I suggest an application such as Uninstall Manager from www.northglide.com - it does a great job of deleting applications because it monitors applications during their installation.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is the first app that I re-installed after the hard reset.
