    Default Computer won't sync

I'm a bit at my wits end and so far none of the advice I've seen on here has helped me regarding syncing my Treo with my computer. The first time I had Desktop and HS Manager on my computer it worked great, but I had to restore my computer to factory settings so lost everything. Not a problem, I just downloaded Palm Desktop and Hotsync back to my computer and installed them. Thing is however, whenever I try to connect via the USB cable the computer doesn't even register the phone. I know it's connecting partially because I'm able to charge the phone with the cable, but it's like the computer refuses to recognize the existance of the phone at the end.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PDesktop several times now, multiple soft resets etc, but nothing seems to connect. Just before I wiped my computer it was syncing fine and I want the newer pictures I have on the SD card in my phone. (Actually, another thing I've noticed is that my computer no longer even recognizes the existance of the SD card whenever I insert it into the computer, where before it did. This seems related to me, although it could just be another glitch)

Any ideas are very much appreciated as I'm truly at my wits end...

You might try a hard reset. Assuming there is nothing on your phone you need to save, take out the battery, hold down the power button, and replace the battery. When you let off the power button, it will ask you if you want to reset the palm. Select yes. Follow from there. Works for me when I get quirks or weird things.
