Thanks for the quick response...I will have to take a look at this. How does this compare to the Black Berry software that RIM has for Treos

I personally am not familiar with the Blackberry software, but as Ben stated previously in this thread, he uses ChatterEmail and gets Push email faster than the people in his company who are using Blackberry. I think you'll be satisfied

Echoing all others on the stability of the 755 over the 650. Especially so since this last firmware update that Palm released (1.07 I believe).

Plus, you have no antenna nub sticking out, which makes it more comfortable to carry in a pocket.

Add to that the large number of apps that work with it and you have a very useful phone. It's one of the reasons I am staying with Sprint (even though I know there is a Verizon version now).

well, I think you would be shocked and dismayed over the difference in cost from the Sprint plan to Verizon. You can't beat Sprint's $15 Power Vision cost, my friend on Verizon pays $45 a month for her data plan.Posted on Treo 755p

Default I have both devices...

I have the BB for work and the Treo as my personal phone. (My pockets are really lumpy.) For most people, I'd say BB, hands down. It's lighter, sleeker, more reliable, and has a superior keyboard. Treo does have a lot of software and customizations that can be downloaded and it comes with Office doc editing software, which is extra for the BB. Generally, I found the treo to be a finicky device. It reboots randomly, the keyboard goes bad (I'm on my 2nd one w/this problem - some letters just stop working), and the OS is a roadkill. The good parts are the phone reception is excellent on the Treo (way better than the BB) Generally, I'd say go BB and try it out for the 14 day trial period before committing.

I am on with sprint, what other features does it have that the 650 does not. I am getting conflicting info from sales people. Thanks very much!!!

Interesting....I found the complete opposite to be true. The Sprint BB8830 has completely kicked my old Sprint 650's butt in terms of phone reception and quality of signal. Never used a 755 so I can't comment.

YMMV....

Steve, frankly the 650 was not much of a device. I had 2 and hated them with a passion. Ben

Hi Ben:

Well, at least it brought passion to your experience!!!

Unfortunately or fortunately, the 650 was my only experience with the Treo line and it is all I have as a personal comparison. As stated many times I had to work at keeping it stable and that included never really experimenting with numerous third-party programs the availability of which is generally looked at as a plus for the Palm platform.

In your case I would guess that your experience with trying almost every program I have ever heard of had to be a constant source of stability issues. Your experiences and ownership of multiple Treo versions gives you a much better perspective to comment on the Treo family than I could ever have.

I have always been in awe of the diverse range of your experience with so many different programs and that continues. You bring a lot to others...

That and my annoyance that you live in paradise....and I don't. The wife and I have been discussing our third trip to your little slice of heaven, but it will be awhile.

Best regards,
SteveTaz
