Default Hotsych Treo755p on MAC

I am new to Treo, but have had Palms before.

I purchased Treo755p to replace my old Palm Zire. After much frustration and calls to Sprint help I got the Treo to synch after restarting my computer (MAC OS 10.4.10 ).

I started the hotsynch operation by pushing the synch button on the Treo. I got a beep from the Treo and the hotsynch icon appeared on the MAC desktop with the message "preparing to synchonize." But nothing happens. The Treo timesout. I also have to close out of hotsynch on the MAC too.

By the way, closing out the Palm desktop software didn't help.

I called Sprint help and was told to try soft booting the Treo by removing the battery. This worked. [Posting a question on this forum was also suggested.]

I was able to hotsynch twice. The third time--same old problem.

I did another soft boot of the Treo and closed hotsynch on the Palm desktop --the Treo synch properly with no delays. The Treo synched twice more --no problem. The fourth time-- after I added info into the Palm desktop the attempt failed and the hotsynch icon on the Palm desktop did NOT appear. The Treo timed out.

Finally after another soft boot of the Treo I was able to synch again.

At no time did I unplug the synch cable from the computer or TREO. I had already made sure that both connections were tight.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to hotsynch without having to either restart the computer or doing a soft boot on the Treo??

I am not using a mac.
When I hotsync, I always have to restart the hotsync app on the PC berofe I push the button.

I am in the same boat. So far I have tried everything. Hopefully something will turn up.

Default Success --Hotsynch TREO with a MAC computer

I still don't understand what is going on or why, but I have found that I have to reboot my MAC computer as well as do a soft boot of the TREO 755p to hotsynch the TREO successfully.

This procedure is only good for one time. To hotsynch again I have to reboot the MAC and the TREO again.

I have tried many combinations of quiting the Palm application, soft booting the TREO and rebooting the MAC without success even though the hotsynch icon appears on the desktop along with a message "Preparing to synchronize." But nothing happens after waiting (20 minutes once). So a connection is made between the TREO and the MAC, but nothing flows.
