Hotsync problems/gets "stuck" on media

When hotsyncing with my desktop via the cable, everything was going smoothly..until four days ago. Now the hotsync gets "stuck" during media sync. I let it run for two hours before I cancelled the operation. Then I had to restart my pc to get palm desktop to work properly again. What's happenin'?

bad media data corrupted media db is likely or maybe somthing you downloaded was in an incompatible format.

How do I tell what is corrupted and correct the problem?

If you do a lot of media transfers, take the time to consider using a card reader. The size of the files and length of time often make the use of a card reader an attractive alternative. Ben

i can't sync my media either. i haven't downloaded anything new & it's a brand new 755p. HELP!

Are you using the desktop from the CD or from the web? The web installation does not include the media function.

click on your Pics & Video icon and look in both main memory and card albums for any photos or videos that have a big red X on them instead of showing the image; these may be corrupted files. Don't attempt to open them, instead highlight them using the 5 way toggle and then use the Options hard button and click delete. After doing this, change the hotsync Media conduit in the Palm Desktop to Do Nothing and check mark to make this the default. that way, it won't hotsync back any corrupt files back onto the treo. I also highly suggest using either a card reader or get the program "Card Reader" by Mobilestream, which turns your treo into a removable drive when hooked up by USB cable. then you can merely drag and drop photos and videos between the desktop and the treo.
