| I AM SHOCKED --i actually refuse 2 believe TREO SMART PHONES DON'T HAVE THIS!! Ok in my last few phones...
when entering a phone number that required a pin number after the call was answered, you'd merely have to press and hold down the asteric button on the phone and it would offer a "W" or "P"
and you could program the phone number with many "P's" if it would satisfiy all of the things you are prompted to do enter in.
So after programming a complete number it in my phones CONTACT LIST the number would look something like this: 18003482938P1P239874
Now for the Treo 755p, to my dismay I am not able to place a PAUSE (P)
nor a WAIT (W) after the initial phone number is entered, (so that it may continue with passcodes, and pin numbers).
My friends with Treos all tell me that u cannot do this on a Treo, however, to me it seems highly unlikely that Treo would not add such an important advantage to entering contact names and numbers.
Does any 755p user know of a way we can do this? |

| I don't have any numbers that use extensions or such, but I use TakephOne as my phone app and it does have something for putting a pause after a phone number to then dial an extension. When entering the phone number into Contacts, you enter TX where you want the pause then type the extension numbers (or passcode, etc) and you can choose for it to wait for 5 or 10 seconds or until it detects the first ring.

| TakePhone and similar applications as mentioned above will help you out. However, to be frank, not every phone does everything. What one believes is essential is not essential to the next guy. If Palm were to offer a device that did everything everyone wanted it to do, it would never reach the street because someone else would want...
And as a result, 3rd party applications are the blessing of the Palm OS.

| Hi:
I believe if you enter a comma, a one second pause is inserted. You can enter multiple commas followed by additional digits. The trick is to know how long before the line is picked up so the extra digits don't dial before.
Read your manual: (Optional) Select More, and then select advanced options: Extra Digits: Defines additional digits to dial, such as a password or extension. To enter a one-second pause, insert a comma between digits. To add a longer pause, enter more commas.
I hope this helps....

| With the Treos, it works only for the 'Favorites'
Any number you assign to a 'Favorites' button allows you to do so by:
tap "more"
enter the commas and numbers
select 'Dial Digits Automatically'
hope that helps |

Oh cool! Thanks, I'll go check this app out. So takephOne.com? Does it interfere in anyway with the Palm desktop contacts setup?
I'll definitely check that out. See, those who call over seas often and use different calling cards for different countries, (like me) tend to preprogram the phone to respond to all the prompts the automated recordings put u thru. |

At first I was confused with what the "favorite" buttons were, but now i have it.
So for anyone else wondering, the complete answer is just as one of the earlier post in this thread had explained.
Go to your DIAL PAD screen, and use the 5 way navigation to find a blank FAVORITES button. [u do this by pushing the navigation button downwards].
Find a blank one and click on it, and it will prompt you to make a speed dial button.
Use your SPEED DIAL option and create the number u want to be saved.
...then click the button at the bottom that says "MORE" and it will let you add extra digits.
You then put commas between the pin numbers or extension numbers.
The more commas the longer the pause.
THen click ok and you're done.
Thus u will have to hit your speed dial when you are dialing this particular number in order to make the extended numbers work.
Thanks people!
