Intro and a Question

hi all

I am a Treo 700p person who after getting frustrated with the pre delay in release decided to get a 755p. Not too much of a difference but enough to baby me while I wait on the next big thing in Palm world. I detest the quality of the centro phone altogether and anything since 755p that wasnt a centro was a Windows OS another thing I do not want.

I am actually not being totally truthful... I actually seriously consider a defection LOL to Blackberry and bought a Curve 8330.. can I say those words on this site shhhh... LOL I hated it. I never activated it and couldnt get past the fact their calendar system and link to contacts is nowhere near that of Palms. I dont use Outlook and love Palms calendar. So back that went in the box and out the 755p came.

I just wanted a change and the 700p was starting to get worn out. Anyhow... my question is this....how does this voice dialing feature work? I was under the impression the way it is listed as an attribute in the 755p literature it was a provided preset service. Sprint told me it was as well. Now I am beginning to think I must use an application (bought for) or subscribe to something on a monthly basis.

I have to say Palm was misleading if that is the case. I could do that with my 700p...any thoughts? Nice saying hello and look forward to some feedback.

yes i am aware but my point was that is a paid for program. palm doesnt or sprint doesnt for that matter indicate outright in their advertisement that they dont provide this preset in the phone. on the list of attributes it says voice dialing. this differs say from the 700p where this isnt mentioned (voice dialing) but voice it can work for that phone as well. it is misleading.

The way I read it and even in the manual - it can do voice things, but you have to pay for it. It was the same with the 600 - at least the 2 I owned - paid service. To get around it with the 600 you had to use a Bluetooth dongle and it is the same with the 755P. So if you do not want to pay Sprint, buy a Bluetooth Dongle, VoiceIt and go from there. Just a note though, it is not a really good solution.

ive talked to sprint and they say they dont have a service you pay for? im so confused. why is voice it not a good solution as you say? thanks.
