Default LOST EVERYTHING! replaced 755 with cracked screen, new treo lost everything. HELP?

When I synced the new 755 it kept cycling.took out a couple of apps that I thought might have caused it. (why? the old one was fine) Synced again. everything is gone. From the computer as well as the treo. Backups too.

Called Sprint. No help. So maybe it is time to stop using Palm desktop and try syncing with another calendar and address book. Any ideas? (My calendar is history, but I do have my contacts in my MAc address book. thank goodness) I can redo all the programs I had on it. I guess.

Did you change your user name? Look in Wjindows explorer, c drive, program files, palm or palm one and look for your user name. Then look in for info....

Top right of palm desktop gives you options to sync to different users...

I believe you can change the name on the handheld to a different one then sync like a new user. Be sure you have your conduits set the right way. Buy a back up program for your palm after you get your data back..a backup is a life saver as you now know.

OK. I found the old stuff in my backup files (at least most of it) and synced, restoring from backup. So now my desktop has the info, but the Treo is doing what it did that started this whole mess - it is clycling: Access, Palm, off, Access, Palm, Off - the only way to stop it is remove the battery. I would like to fix this. Sprint knows nothing.

Well you can do a hard reset to get your treo working again. Rename your backup folder to something else and sync your treo. This should restore your data but not your apps from the backup folder.

If your rebooting starts it is something in your data files. Hard reset again and sync one conduit at a time to see what is causing the reboots.

Or hard reset and set all of your conduits to do nothing and sync to your user and see if your apps are causing the reboot...

well in fact I found a file I had not deleted (there were a lot of extraneous ones floating around) that had my apps in it, and after hard resetting) did indeed (sync just the contacts and calendar.) Obviously one of my aps is corrupted, so I;ll just have to go through them one by one, or maybe get replacements. At least I did find them, and those are what counted. (700 or o contacts plus my appointments)

Thank you for your help.

I have an additional Treo which I use in Europe (one with a sim card, my us one is Sprint) and I have always synced it with the Mac, same user name. IT occurred to me,(duh) that I could do so, thus restoring everything onto the Mac and then the Sprint Treo, HOWEVER, all of a sudden I got a message saying I couldnt sync two handhelds wit?h the same computer and hser name. Always worked before. Any ideas?
Trish
