Moto Q Actually Did Something Right?

just got the 755P after throwing my moto q against a wall and then setting it on fire while cursing the cell phone gods for ever creating such an abomination.

but (i can't believe i'm saying this) i actually miss a couple things from the unholiest of all phones (moto q). the homepage posted the number of new emails, texts, whether i had a new voice mail, and upcoming appts. i liked that all on the front page, and with the ability to have a picture in the background.

also, when dialing on the Q, i could start typing and it would pull up the most recent call (in, out or missed) that was made, starting with whatevevr letter i typed. and number/ letter keys would bring up the corresponding numbers for both i.e. key# 2/r would bring up calls starting with either a 2 or an r. is there a good way to get these two features? is this what zlauncheer does?

Yeah I'm having difficulties adjusting to a lot of the features of my new phone. Don't get me wrong I love it, but I miss being able to pull up the call log and saving a new phone number there instead of having to copy and paste the number by pulling up Contacts and going the long way.

Among other things I miss about my LG V.

You might want to take a look at DateBook6. By the way, your telephone home screen actually does display new emails, new voice mails and texts out of the box. The format may just be different for you. Take a look at the top bar area.

Also, to get to your most recent calls you made with one press, just press and release the green telephone button. If you press and hold it the last number dialed will redial. In and out calls have a shortcut on the bottom to your Call Log.

Motorola does go a bit far putting the Q, in the "Smart Phone" arena... What a sorry excuse for a device.

The Palm will display a yellow phone bell in the upper left hand corner, along with an icon for voice mail and text messages... If you use versa mail, it will also let you know of an email in the hopper...

If you make or receive a call from someone "new" and want to save it, it asks right after you answer if you want to save... at that point all you have to do is put the name in, after you hit save the number. No cut and paste involved...

yeah, these features are good, but for the dialing, the q had it right. i was trying to call someone today and couldn't remember their whole number but i knew it started with 519... what would be nice is if it could auto-fill from there. instead, i have to scroll through a massive list of previous calls to find the number. i don't want to be asked to save every new number in order to keep only a few.

if i can ever get a free moment, i'll check out these programs, thanks for posting.
