new user in need of much help!

So i recently upgraded to a treo, and i've had one major problem with it.
Sometimes, if someone is calling and i answer it, the phone will reset and go show the palm symbol. If it does not do that right when someone calls, it will sometimes happen during the phone call. After each time it resets, the volume is turned off.

Also, for some reason, after having to do a hard reset, my caller id will just not work! All the numbers that call are stored in my contacts, but the contacts name will not come up when they call, only reading unknown caller.

please help, these problems have been very frustrating.

I brought it back to sprint to see if he knew of any remedies, and all the guy said was that it is a known problem and referred me to this forum.

Let us start with this - which device are you using?

How much free memory space do you have on the device - main memory, not card memory.

Are you running a third party launcher?

Do you have any application monitoring the db cache?

Are you using the latest ROM update?

Are you using TakePhone?

Are you using CallBlock?

Are you using the latest releases of the applications on your device?

I suggest looking at Reset Doctor - http://www.hobbyistsoftware.com/reset-doctor-more.php - it will monitor the db cache for you at a user specified level. I have mine set at 4mb and I also lock the preferences.

TakePhone and CallBlock interaction after the MR= resets on my Treo 700p.

I would seriously look at Ringo being a problem. Disable it, reset the device and just for giggles, move it to the card and see what happens.

The latest ROM update - check your service provider's web site or the Palm website.
