Not sure what to do...

So i bought this used treo 755p from a guy on ebay (4500 transactions w/ 100% feedback)...when i got the phone, i put the battery in the back, and it worked for about 2 min., then shut off and did the whole "access powered" flashing...so after doing a hard reset twice, and soft reset after that, numerous times, i called the guy and told him the situation

he directed me to send the phone back to him, and he would send a replacement...well, a few hrs. later (this was at night, so i couldn't have it in the mail till the morning), i was messing around w/ it, and it finally decided to work...this was last week...well, last night, before i left for work, it decided to shut off and this time, instead of getting the flashing, i was now getting a lit keypad, and a black screen...it's been like this ever since...i can't do a hard reset, and now matter how many times i take the battery off and put it back on, i keep getting the same thing...now i'm incredibly pissed b/c i need a phone, and i've now possibly lost my entire phone book...

i'm guessing the only solution is to send it back to him and get a replacement...am i correct? any help would be greatly appreciated

so i was finally able to do 2 hard resets...completely pissed that i lost all my contacts...there are contacts in there that i really needed...o well, i guess i have to start new...i just hope this is the last time this happens

ok, so apparently i have all of my contacts sync'd to my desktop through my palm access program...so i didn't lose all my contacts, thank god...however, i tried to hotsync and everytime i hit the button on the cable, it would restart my phone...and now, it's all jacked up again and doing the flash thing...this thing is irritating the hell out of me...

started working again...so i try to hotsync...and in the middle of it...phone shuts off, and is not working again...WTF...

Have you considered replacing the battery or taking it by a repair center to have the battery checked?

i did consider the battery, however, i talked to my buddy that works at a sprint store (it's a kiosk in the mall), and he said they didn't have any extra batteries...i guess i should call the actual sprint store around me to see if they have any extras i could possibly try

went to sprint...they gave me a new battery for free...got in the car, put it in (figured i'd charge it in my car since the batteries are never charged out of the package)..however, phone still doesn't work, so i couldn't even charge it...the guy i bought it from, has a replacement in the mail for me right now...hopefully i'll have it tomorrow or thursday

Best to return the phone but you might try a zero out reset on the phone but I would have the guy supply you with a new phone. When you get it do the reset to clear everything before you put anything on it. Use the phone for a few days before you sync to be sure it works okay, then sync the new phone maybe just do contacts to see if everything is okay. If you have corrupt data it is best to be sure the hardware is fine before you sync.

thanks man, will do...phone didn't come in today, so hopefully tomorrow..not having my phone is killing me...i can't get anything done unless i'm at home
