Battery life?
I want a new toy! However, I have a 600 currently and due to various reasons I have continued to put off upgrading and am not sure if this is even the right time. I remember reading about lots of battery life complaints in newer versions and am concerned that the new ones may have the same problems. Any ideas?
EVDO and bluetooth, no antennae!! are definite pluses. Especially if there is a way to enable the phone as modem withoout paying ridiculous extra monthly charges for the few times a month I may actually use it as such. Still nice to have though.
I am happy with Palm, but saw the mention of a Linux Treo version also. Any ideas what that is going to offer as advantages to the current choices?
Thanks!

I think the 600 has a 1200 milliamp-hour Lithium Ion battery though I am unsure off hand. The 700 and 650 have an 1800 and the 755 has a 1600 so is right in between. It should not be too bad. I plan on getting a spare anyway no matter what phone I end up with.
As for connecting to a laptop try pdanet. It allows you to use it as a modem via USB (the best way as it is faster and charges the phone as well) or bluetooth.
You do not need to pay extra when using that. At least until Sprint messes with it. I am like you and would only use it here and there so I would be bummed if they somehow stopped the PDNet interface for us casual users.

Built in Microsoft Email Push technology. Hmm.......wonder how that compares to everything else out there (Wireless Sync, Chatter mail etc., etc.,)?

That's what I thought.. the store says NO ... I am going to call coporate if it doesn't come in next week... I've been with them a long time and this wouldn't be fair..

That's a good plan. Or try calling rentention if you in a position to barter your recently signed contract. Let them know you are under your 30 days but would like this new phone. They've been pretty good with some on offering some options for keeping long term customers.

I think it would be about the same as chatter in this way. I assume you can do it without an exchange server like chatter does.
I played with chatter on a normal imap server and it worked fine but the battery drain is huge as you have a constant connection. I do not think push is that great on an imap server unless you really really have to have your email instantly that way.
I am unsure if you are getting mail through an exchange server how it does it any different, if at all. Do blackberries have huge drains like this?
Anyway this is all getting kind of off topic, sorry ;)

All this worring for nothing..... just received a phone call from the Sprint Store.. the 755p is in and they put one aside with my name on it... cool.... now I just have to return the case for the 700p that arrived from Everythingtreo yesterday and get one for the 755p .. they think all the cables I purchased should be the same..

Nice. That's great news.
I should call my Sprint store to see if they have one in. At least go take a look at it to see if I want to do the upgrade.

Sero
Any idea how long a new phone takes to end up being in the Sprint SERO listings? I know the official release is Monday but I am looking to start a new SERO account when I buy the 755. Still not 100% sold on staying with Palm if they there is a chance some of the WM complaints will be resolved with WM6. If so I may have to wait for that. It would be nice to have WM but I remember a lot of complaints about it when it first came out for Treos, which is a big reason I stayed with my 600 that works well. If it aint broke...
