Default Palm Desktop and upgrade issue

I got to work this morning and my Palm Desktop is not working. I tried to do an upgrade and the upgrade lost all of my contacts/apps/calender ect. Now my phone has virtually nothing on it. I tried a roll back on my computer which put my older (better verstion) back on my computer but I dont know how to get everything back on my phone? Help....I do have everything on my home computer so I do realize that all is not lost. Oh and yes I have Verizion and that was the update I was installing.

OK folks I need some help here...I am now at home where my desktop cal is still in good shape....but how am going to make my desktop information (all my contacts and cal dates etc.) the default 4.2 version and what is on my phone interact? It looks like I downloaded an older version, I think on my phone and office computer today..on my phone it shows v.1.3.4 and remember I am Verision.
Thanks anyone who can help with my next step as I dont want to loose every friggin thing. I did see all the lost stuff in folders on my work computer as they were listed as incompatiable apps.

Ok I am a lucky man....at least for now, and I seem to be talking to myself here on this forum. I got home and made my home computer the default hotsync for everything and yes it worked. All of my data is back, I had to install bejeweled and some other apps but yea me. Now I plan on taking my Verizion install cd to work to re-install the desktop and hotsync on my work computer while I delete the newer or older version that I downloaded today.

TobyTreo, in the future, use NVBackup to restore your Treo after a hard reset.

Toby,

Assuming you are on a Windows system, you can also copy the Palm OS Desktop/Username folder and copy it to another computer for syncing.

Sounds like you got it figured out.

As camstuf suggested, you can also backup directly on the Treo using a mini SD card and the program NVBackup. I do weekly backups and it's nice to know it's all right there in case something happens.
