 |  palm desktop...s--k...oris it me I have had problems with syncing at work with palm. So I deleted palm desktop off the computer and downloaded the program and set it up. I synced and it duplicated everything so I ran a back up restore to clean up the device and went in to palm to have the device overwrite the pc. When I click on hotsync all the options except setup are grayed out. I can setup a new user and it gives me the options until I sync. But I do not want to do that each time in fact that may be causing the duplicates... What am I missing??

| Is the correct port or method of backing up selected?

| Ben I can sync the two together I just do not have the option to change conduit options in hot sync (Device to overwrtite etc..) Any ideas??

| Hi plunker: Not sure if this applies, but if your device is set for a wireless sync, I don't think you can select any desktop options. Just staying in touch.....  SteveTaz

| Might have solved the problem. Hot sync manager was using a wrong port. Also was changing or is changing my virtual port setting at hot sync.  I could access the custom setting by the icon on the task bar. Not sure if I can access it through palm desktop.

| My 2 Vista computers do that if the wrong port is selected. I have also noticed with them that the sync works 100% of the time if the Palm Desktop is not open at the time of the sync. When the Palm Desktop is open and a sync is started, it will on occasion fail. What an application. What a dude. Ben

| I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times now. I am a master!! It locks up when I sync seems to hang on tasks on the handheld and installing programs on the pc. I have it set to do nothing with tasks and there are no programs to install!! When I set the conduits from the hotsync icon no user is specified and when I finish I get a memory error with the pc...... When I do sync it is trying to sync with my user name...I guess I will try once more and set everything to do nothing. How hard is it to export addresses and your calender from a a pc to a pc instead of syncing??
