Password to sync treo 755?

My computer is asking me for a password before it will allow me to sync my Treo. I've used every password I can think of. The people at Sprint told me I will lose all my info. and all I can do is a hard reset. Is this true????

Hi and welcome to ET. Sorry it is under these circumstances....

The password prompt appears because there is a password on your Treo. At least the software thinks it detected one. When you access any of your information in any of the applications are you seeing a password prompt? Maybe you set one for the handheld to lock it completely or you locked your Calendar/Contact entries?

When you say you will lose all of your information, have you never synced with the device before? Have you been syncing for some time and never had a password and suddenly there is one? Maybe you recently added a new contact and mistakenly marked it as private?

On your device go to preferences and then to owner and then unlock. Try to guess the password . There should be a hint that you left for yourself. If you cant get in like this you will have to hard boot to reset or just live with out the sync process.
