Default PDAnet or other for laptop data?

I am looking at pulling the trigger on getting the 755p with SERO but can anyone confirm that I can use PDAnet or some other mechanism to use the phone as modem for the occasional laptop connection?

I really dont want to buy a EVDO card or plan for the limited times I would actually use it in this fashion. I really wouldnt even care too much if it went against my minutes but with an unlimited data plan that should be a nonissue. I just dont want to have to pay $40 a month for the rare use.

    Thanks!

According to their web site, the 755P is supported. Exactly what you described is how I use PdaNet on my 680. I don't use it often, but on those times when I need access from my laptop and WiFi is no where to be found, this is an awesome application! I think most carriers look down upon the use of this, as they certainly want to sell you a plan for just for your laptop access, but Cingular has never questioned me about my data use in 4 years of having a data plan and 3 of those occasionally using PdaNet.
