Problems with "updating database"

Is anyone else having the problem where the phone is constantly "updating its databases" everytime you switch from one program to another. Sometimes it even connects to Sprint Power vision while its doing it. It'll do this 50 times one day and then fine for another etc. My boss has the same phone and his is doing it too. It's driving us both nuts!
