Remove Nuance Voice Control Once Trial Ends

If you did the trial of the Nuance voice activation software, be sure to delete the application once your trial ends (assuming you don't pay the monthly fee to keep it).

From this and other forums, the software can cause problems if it remains on your phone after the trial period expires. It can affect syncs and it can also cause an attempt to contact Power Vision followed by a power reset whenever you switch applications. You can always reinstall if you want to use it. I don't believe that the problems occur when the software is "active."

I used the Nuance software and decided not to keep it (mostly because the voice phone dialing was so slow). I started getting some bad syncs and the restart problem after the Nuance trial ended. I thought it was all part of the sync issue because usually, re-syncing would fix the restart problem. However, last week I got the restart problem and no number of good syncs helped. A forum post suggested uninstalling the Nuance software. After I did this, the reset problem immediately resolved and has not returned.

I don't even want to try the Nuance, but I can't figure out how to remove the icon that sets up the trial. Any ideas?

If it came with the treo on the rom then you are stuck with it. There are apps that will hide icons for you.
