The easiest way is to get the free program called MiniTones. Google for it.

It simply allows you to use an MP3 as a ringtone by adding it to the list of available ring tones. It does not convert them to anything, you just use them as is. It even allows you to trim it down from within the application.

Is there a tutorial on how to use minitones. I'm trying to use it with my 755p and it won't work. I installed minitones, then bluetoothed the mp3 file over. It plays in pockettunes but i can't see it in mintones. anyone know what i'm doing wrong

The tutorial on using Minitones:

#1 - install it to the Launcher folder on the card - it does not run in the background and it does not respond to any alerts.

#2 - Make sure you have bunches and bunches or at least one WAV file in the AUDIO folder on the card.

#3 - upon starting up MiniTunes it will scan the AUDIO folder for compatible files.

#4 - place a check mark in the little box for each WAV file to make into a ring tone.

#5 - Minitones does its thing and places those memory eating files in the main memory of the device with something like: Ton-name of file.

The result - you got files and less memory.
