Security Question

I just purchased a new treo 755p a couple of days ago. I am new to the treo family. So far, so great! I have been messing with the apps/options on the phone. I have come across something that I cant do. Hopefully you guys/gals can help me out. Here goes: So, if I am at the main treo screen (the one with all the app icons) and I go to SECURITY. I have assigned a password.....lets say 4321 to make it simple....and for AUTO LOCK DEVICE, it is set to NEVER. Now then; when I hit the PHONE button on the keypad, it takes me to the dial pad screen. If I go to OPTIONS....PHONE LOCK.....I get a screen named PHONE LOCK. There I have two options to LOCK PHONE....they are 1. ON PHONE POWER OFF....and.....2. Immediately. If I choose either option, it prompts me for a LOCK CODE...I enter my password from above....4321....and it states that i have an INCORRECT LOCK CODE. It has the following message: THE 4-DIGIT PHONE LOCK CODE YOU HAVE ENTERED IS INCORRECT. I have already performed 3 HARD RESET(s) to no avail. The resets, have been successful as far as i can tell....because I have no data/contacts and I have to go in and re-set my password in the security section. But this LOCK CODE is still asking me for the correct code? Is there a default password that treo uses or something? BTW, please excuse the n00bness.

**UPDATE**

I took my treo to a local sprint store. They took a look, they did a HARD RESET again to no avail. They also did a MASTER RESET, which is one step further, i presume. No luck. Be careful with this password....if you change it. Any other ideas anyone?

Nope, never got it fixed....havent really needed it though....i havent run into any problems since....all is well without it.

I had this problem too. If you click the "I" (i guess it stands for information) in the top right of the phone lock screen it will tell you that the default passcode is the last 4 digits of your phone number. Then you will be prompted to change the passcode. If you continue to have this issue and you bought your phone new i would suggest that you go to the sprint store and swap your phone out. They may try to do a hard reset, but It probably won't work. I was in the store today and the tech's really didn't know what i was talking about and they just ended up swapping out phones, then activating a new phone for me. Since you're probably still under manufact warranty they'll swap it out for you too.
