Ok,I've had my 755p for 5 days. Apparently upon customization, I can no longer control the volume of ringers or control the receiver volume in the middle of a phone call because my volume control on the side isn't functioning. Anyone have an idea what's wrong...it could be broke...I dont' know. The up and down volume buttons simply do not respond when pressed in any situation (during phone call, when pressed while not on phone call to adjjust ringer, etc) Any help is appreciated. Otherwise, this is nothing short of a fantastic device and I am very pleased.
Did a soft reset and it works now. However, after the first soft reset, I couldn't turn the phone portion on...had to do another. Is this typical? Dont' care much for resetting a phone for any reason i.e. corruption of files, but didn't have a choice. Hope this isn't the start of something worse.
Man. I had the same problem about 10 times with the no volume control issue. I usually do a soft reset (which we shouldn't have to do) Today it happened again and after restarting, all of my text messaging entries were gone. Everything else is fine (so far)
It's happened to me many many times after I first posted this. Getting old. Also, anyone know of a way to "toggle" between handset and a bluetooth car system? No buttons on the phone to transfer from phone to car that I'm aware of. Much appreciated.
While you can say "we shouldn't have to" many of the soft resets are due to 3rd party software that you are probably using that is the fault of the developer, not Palm.
My Treo resets a lot but because I have so much extra software I understand why it needs to reset sometimes. Test the buggy software and get rid of what causes problems and you'll have no problem.
Spoken like a truly technophobe. How do we "test" software? By the way, I often do soft resets, and have absolutely zero third party software on my palm treo. You assume too much.
