Default Sprint is getting Treos 750 (WM6) & 755

Alright everyone, as I have said before my cousin works for palm (marketing) and last night I was able to get updated info on the new treos coming to sprint.

1. The 755 is going to be the next genration palm os based Treo. The 755 is going to look similar to the 680 from cingular. The only beef my cousin said is that sprint does not like the demensions of the Treo 680, in short the 755 will have a bigger screen than the 680. And no.. Sprint will not have different color Treos anytime soon.

2. Sprint will get the a Treo 750 similar to Cingulars. The 750 will feature WM6. Sprints 750 with WM6 will not come out until cingulars 750 ( to be fair i was told)

3. Here is the good news Both phones will be REV A phones and the 750 possibly might offer WIFI (Its up to Sprint).

So there it is, dont shoot the messenger, but i got as much as I could for us who would lost like a muthaf*** without our Treos.

Cingular already has their 750. Any idea on a more specific date for the Sprint 750 release? I'm getting the bug for a new phone! Thanks for the info!

I know Cingular already has a Treo 750 that runs on WM5. The way it was explained to me is that all new 750's that are shipped will be running WM6. My cousin told me that Sprint wont get the 750 running WM6 until Cingular gets theirs first. I counldnt get any info as to when this is going to happen... sorry. But trust me when I find out, I will post it becuase Im looking forward to the new window based OS for my treo life.

Default 750 or 755 capable for use overseas?

I'm new to this forum...so thanks for entertaining a reply.

Is it safe to assume that the 750 or the 755 that Sprint "may" soon be getting (hope this isn't just a rumor) is capable for overseas use?

I've been waiting for Sprint to come out with the 750 just to use in Europe. It'a a pain to have to keep renting a phone from them just for travel, it isn't worth it! I buy a cheapo over there and pay-as-you-go when I'm there. It would be nice if Sprint finally catches up with it's competitors on this capability. I would NEVER leave Sprint because of a GREAT CHEAP plan with all the bells & whistles (since '97) for under $69/mo 4Kmins., Int'l calling, data, pic's/video, etc.

I have tried GSM and did not like it. Also I heard from Sprint they may be aquiring Alltel, that Alltel was looking for a buyer

There has been speculation that Sprint has an exclusive deal on the 755p, but I have seen nothing in the online Palm/Sprint marketing material to indicate that Sprint has an exclusive. The closest indication that it might be an exclusive is that the announcement of the product on this page:
Palm Introduces Treo 755p Smart Device for the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network

So, is it really an exclusive, or did Sprint just get it first?

I think it means that you can order through palm with sprint service or order through Sprint for sprint service.
