| thinking about switching from 650 to 755p i have had a treo 650 for a long time now and am thinking about buying myself the 755p. how is it compared to the 650? i only use the phone for txting, talking, surfing message boards when i'm bored, and playing games every once in a while. i will not be adding other programs, except for google maps, so the programs that are on it will be fine.
this may be a dumb question, but will the internet be faster on the 755p? or will it be the same as my current 650?
thanks... |

| The 755 and Centro are definitely superior to the 650, in terms of speed, memory and stability. The same programs will run (may require lastest updates) and they are much less prone to crashes.

| I was a 650 user for two plus years ... the 755p is a significantly faster device. The internet speed will of course depend on your carrier. I have Verizon, so the EDVO is light years above the 'dial up' like speeds on the 650.

| Sprint has poer vision which has replaced vision. Everyone uses power vision but the speed is limited to your device. The 650 does or cannot operate at the power vision speeds available out there. The 755 sounds like an upgrade here.
Some areas still have the slower networks with sprint. I sprint rep told me you can tell by the arrows downloading info to your palm if it is power vision or old vision. The only thing keeping me from upgrading is my local network.

| Yeah something to do with the colors of the arrows. I think mine are black or gray...roaming so I can't verify right now. She said the arrows were a different color. I'll check when I get back in range. I think some areas in Albq are power vision speeds. My network in southern New Mexico (PVT network) is or has not been upgraded.
I seem to remember my arrows being different colors downloading one time but I was in Phoenix or Las Vegas.

| I am under the impression that on the default phone dialer screen if you see EV then that is the high speed network. However, on the older Treos one could see the arrows where going sideways and I just looked at the arrows on my 700P and they are pointing up/down. I have never paid attention to them before. Ben

| I am in a high speed area and my arrows are a light gray - I do know they have never been green, not even in downtown Honolulu.
