| Transferring info from PDA to Treo 755p I am thinking about getting a Treo 755p. I presently use a Tungsten TX ALL THE TIME and thought it would be a good idea. However, I am not sure about transferring phone numbers and other info from the Tungsten to the Treo. Is this going to be a smooth process? |

| Are all of your contacts in Outlook by any chance? If so, you can choose to sync the 755 with Outlook for your contacts and calendar, it is very easy. Congrats on the upgrade.

| Unfortunately, they are not in Outlook. They are in the Palm OS format. Will I be able to transfer the info from the TX to the 755? |

So I take it that you have all of your contacts and your calendar in the Palm Desktop for your TX? You can use the same username for the 755 and what you should do is find your Palm folder under Programs on your C Drive of your computer. In that folder find a folder with your palm username and inside of that look for a file called Backup. Rename that file TX backup.
now, when you do your first hotsync of the 755 it will ask you if you want to sync using a new username or a current one. You can choose your current username and then when you start the hotsync, it will ask if you want to sync everything or just the PIM information (contacts and calendar) and it may also ask if you want to sync with Palm Desktop or outlook. So you should choose yes to sync only the PIM info (no programs) and to sync with the palm desktop. It will then sync the palm desktop contacts and calendar only. Some of your third party apps on the TX may not be compatible with the 755; you should go onto the creator's website and check the device compatibility chart and if compatible with the 755, you should then download the newest version and install that through hotsync to the 755.
Good luck

| Oh, one more thing, if you do get the 755, it should come with an installation CD for the Palm Desktop, you need to install that. They are different for the different PDA's. You just install it right over the existing Palm Desktop and it should pick up your contacts and calendar from the old one; just like an update. Then you do your first sync with the 755 and choose only the contacts and calendar.
