Default Treo 755p lags every 3 seconds or so

Hey all. First post, but been lurking a long time. Nice to meet all of ya!

I just got a Treo 755p through Sprint, and I love the phone. The only issue, and its quickly becoming a big one, is that every 2-3 seconds, my phone lags, often causing me to hit a key twice, or accidentally dial a phone # when checking my call log. This lag happens in EVERY program, and also lasts from .5-1.5 seconds. It is becoming nothing short of annoying. Any user run across this issue?

Also, I am reading that the battery should be getting 4 hours of talk time, but after 8 hours, making 3-6 calls, my battery is sucking wind. Is the 4 hours misinformation, or do I have something wrong with my phone?

Thanks very much for taking the time to read and help, I appreciate it.

most of this issue is caused by other applications...did you install any 3rd party applications on the device? you may want to do a hard reset and observe the phone for 24-48 hours...

Are you in an area with a low signal?

I think mRing was giving me some trouble. It seemed to bog the phone down a bit. I'm wiping a lot of them to see what happens.... I noticed something else. I tried a hard reset as I didnt have a ton of data on the phone yet.... and when I did it, my 2g memory card somehow filled up upon the reset. I had 1.8 gb free prior to the reset, but 8 MB free after it. I had to format the card.

Something seems off.

Not too bad... in Tampa area. Everything seems to be alright with the signal.

If an application is set to frequently check a condition, delays can happen. mRing though should not in itself cause a problem. I would have first disabled it, moved it to the card, executed a soft reset and then check the results.

Do you have a background recording application? If so, CallRec set to automagically record all calls UNTIL one lovely day in paradise the daily backup routine failed. I looked around and saw tons and tons and ounces of recorded calls, which led me to stop recording calls made/received on the Treo.

A hard reset does not have the capability of moving files around - only zapping them.

Are you using it for email? If so, check your sync settings. That can eat your battery. I set mine to once an hour and that helped.
